Blackmore Vale Bonsai Group News

Picture
After a long enforced break we were able to meet at Charlton in July. Now we are back to almost normal with monthly meetings.
We will have a workshop at Thorngrove Garden Centre in Gillingham starting 28th  August on last Saturday each month.
The workshops at Guggleton will continue for the next few months.
The auction which was cancelled in 2020 will be on 17th October.
The sale at Southwick was good, a lot of people walking about and we sold most of what we took. The day was dry for most of the time after a night of storms.
There is no Heathrow show this year, the next is in September 2022.
Hopefully there will be the usual shows next year, including ours in June  2022

The auction on 17th October was a success for all. With 54 bidders and 240 lots the auction started at 11.00. Stopping at 13.00 for lunch from the fish and chip seller. Starting again just after 14.00 Tony the auctioneer went through the lots at lightening speed, or so it seemed. Everyone worked hard and it ran relatively smoothly.
Well worth doing and we will be doing it again next year.
At the Annual General Meeting on 10th December, the first for two years, the committee was elected. After the AGM., we had a demo by Tony Oswin, this went down well. There is a report elsewhere.
Our next meeting, first in 2022 will be on 14th January.
